ADHD Assessments for the Whole Family
At Connected Minds, we recognise that neurodevelopment and mental health are shaped within relationships, family systems, and shared experiences. When a child begins their ADHD journey, it is common for parents to reflect on their own experiences—both past and present. Gaining clarity can be empowering, validating, and deeply connecting for families.
As part of our commitment to holistic, whānau-centred care, we offer ADHD assessments for parents of children and adolescents currently supported by Connected Minds. We also provide ADHD assessments and medication support for adults, whether or not their children are supported by Connected Minds.

Testimonials
“It was very reassuring to go through everything with Jam, and it was wonderful that she was able to meet and hear directly from our young person. We have a delightful young person with many fantastic qualities, and I really appreciated how Jam highlighted these strengths and explained that ADHD is not a disability, but rather a different way of experiencing the world. Jam has a wonderful approach, and I particularly valued the way she respected our young person and her perspective.
Thank you for taking the time and care to work through everything with us. It is incredibly reassuring to know she is in safe hands and that Jam is genuinely looking out for her best interests. I can’t thank her enough.”
Ceri (2025)
“Jam relates very well to young patients. She engages with them in an age-appropriate way that encourages them to participate in their own care. Our children feel comfortable speaking with her and feel safe, respected, and valued. This helps them take an active role in understanding their condition and how to manage it, which helps them stay engaged with the steps involved in their care.
From the beginning, she has approached our care in a genuinely collaborative way, taking into account the different ways the condition affects day-to-day life. She takes the time to listen carefully to the three of us, ensuring our perspectives and questions are part of the discussion when considering options and next steps. She also helped us understand the condition and how it may affect everyday life. As part of this, she has shared thoughtfully curated resources, both key information about the condition and materials that are specifically relevant to our situation. These have been particularly helpful for our family. Having guidance that is both practical and tailored
makes it much easier for us to take an active role.
For us, a key part of our partnership is the reliability she shows in following through on what she says she will do. That dependability reinforces the feeling that she genuinely cares and that we are working together as a team. This has helped build a strong sense of trust in her care. Overall, her approach has created a sense of empowerment for our family, where decisions feel shared rather than directed. Through her listening, follow-through, tailored support, and ongoing communication, she has created a relationship where we have felt supported, respected, and genuinely involved in achieving the best care possible.”
